Water@work

Water is a basic requirement for good health.

The average adult body is composed of approximately 65% water. This water is depleted throughout the day during normal body functions (respiration, perspiration, urination) and needs to be replenished to keep the body functioning optimally. When the body is dehydrated, the result is impaired mental and physical performance.

Therefore water has a direct effect on the productivity and efficiency of workers.

Poor health costs a company both in terms of lost productivity and ultimately money. (absentee-ism, disability, presentee-ism, turn-over, medical costs, etc.) Healthy workers are an essential factor in the success of every company.

Mental Performance

Think about it: the human brain is 85% water. Dehydration of just 1 - 2% causes energy production in the brain to decrease, resulting in impaired mental functions: studies report poor concentration, reduced short-term memory, psychomotor and arithmetic skills.

Physical Performance

Since all parts of the body need water to function properly, dehydration will profoundly impact the body's physical performance. Studies show that at only 1 - 2% dehydration physical performance levels decrease 5 -10%!

Drinking water is a simple and effective way to care for your health at work. If you are like the majority of people who spend 60% of their waking hours at work, then you cannot afford to neglect your health during these hours. An Eden water cooler is an easy and cost-effective way to provide employees with the water they need to stay healthy and hydrated throughout the day.
