Leading provider of drinking solutions for the workplace, Eden Springs Group, has appointed Yariv Shapira as managing director of Mey Eden (Eden Springs Israel).
Shapira joined Mey Eden as a plant manager in 1990, having completed a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering at the Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel and an MBA in business analysis at the University of Tel Aviv. Shapira has excelled in a number of positions within Mey Eden and Eden Springs (Europe) SA, helping to significantly grow the business during his 21 years at the company.
When the decision was taken to expand Mey Eden’s operations into Europe in 1999}, Shapira was tasked with establishing the company’s European headquarters and operations. He was then appointed chief operating officer for the Eden Springs Group and remained in this role until 2008 when he was promoted to deputy CEO. In this role, Shapira was responsible for the Group’s commercial development and overseeing several key projects for Mey Eden, including the integration of large acquisitions. In 2010, Shapira’s role was widened to also include research and development activities relating to news business development projects.
In addition to his outstanding achievements at the Eden Springs Group, Shapira held to role of chairman of the trade organisation EBWA (European Bottled Water Cooler Association - recently renamed WE, Watercoolers Europe) from 2008 to 2010.
In his new role as MD of Mey Eden, Shapira will remain as vice president (R&D Group) and deputy CEO (Group).
